Food or drinks high in sugar will quickly spike your blood-sugar levels but if they also lack protein, fibre or fat they will then cause an energy dip, commonly caused a crash. Draining your energy and encouraging you to eat more sugar to gain that energy burst again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The recommended daily allowance of sugar is 37.5g for men and 25g for women. That's about 9 and 6 teaspoons respectively, which means if you have two sugars in a cup of tea or coffee and have three cups of tea or coffee ladies you will hit your sugar allowance before you even notice that chocolate bar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In an oven proof dish add some sea salt, olive oil, crushed garlic, thyme and rosemary, coat the vegetables. Roast at 180'C for 45 minutes, tossing the veg every 15/20 minutes so that it doesn't burn or stick! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Omega 3 (found in all oily fish) has also been linked (but not directly proven) to boosting your metabolism, reducing hunger and appetite and boosting the effect of exercise (by using fat as a fuel instead of carbohydrates). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
